WHAT´S POLAR?
Polar is an online action comic. My approach is advancing at my own pace, but with a minimum rhythm of two weekly updatings, Mondays and Thursdays.
The story uses a minimalistic and direct style inspired by movies like Le Samurai (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967), Tokyo Drifter (Seijun Suzuki, 1965) or Point Blank (John Boorman, 1967)and novels like The Killer inside me (Jim Thompson, 1952)or The Eiger Sanction (Trevanian, 1979). Polar is also a tribute to artists like Jim Steranko, Jose Muñoz, Alberto Breccia, Alex Toth and Frank Miller,.
The main character is Black Kaiser, an international hitman born in the same titled graphic novel, published by Planeta-De-Agostini in Spain and Italy in 2010.

The second season of Polar will be a tribute to the 70s subgenre of "Rape & revenge" films like I spit on your grave (1978), Lady Snowblood (1973), Thriller: a cruel picture (1973) or Female prisoner 701: Scorpion (1972) with a new main character and Black Kaiser in a supporting role.
WHY THIS STYLE?
No words, simple to draw, simple to see, simple to understand. Following that spirit, there are not limitations of language or country.
WILL POLAR BE PUBLISHED IN PAPER?
Dark Horse will publish the first season as a 160 pages hardcover graphic novel this December. POLAR: CAME FROM THE COLD is an expanded, corrected and dialogued version of the website stuff. They will be diferent works with outstanding changes and will live toghether.

¿POR QUÉ ESTE ESTILO?
Sin palabras, sencillo de dibujar, sencillo de ver, fácil de comprender. Siguiendo ese espíritu, no existen limitaciones de idioma o país.
¿POLAR SERÁ PUBLICADO EN PAPEL?
Dark Horse publicará este Diciembre la primera temporada como una novela gráfica de tapa dura de 160 páginas. POLAR: CAME FROM THE COLD es una versión expandida, corregida y dialogada del material de la web. Ambos serán trabajos distintos con cambios significativos y convivirán juntos.
